Who We Are
South Jersey Tamil Association (SJTA) is a group of volunteers of all age groups living, for the most part, in and around South Jersey. We aim to raise global citizens with an awareness of the rich and ancient Tamil language, literature, culture, and heritage.

What We Do
We teach the language, organize annual celebrations of Pongal (the Harvest festival) and Deepavali (the Light festival) and support charitable causes, sometimes in conjunction with other non-profit organizations. We also foster a "Youth Club" to engage the next generation.

Tamil School
Every Friday, our Tamil language program serves over 110 students aged 5 and up. Structured across six proficiency levels, the curriculum covers reading, writing, and speaking in Tamil. The program is powered by a dedicated volunteer faculty, including several veteran educators with over a decade of teaching experience.
